Reconstruction of the vessel Queen of Szczecin

In 2025, Marco Service carried out a comprehensive modernization of the vessel Queen of Szczecin. The scope of work included both the overhaul of the hull and superstructure, as well as advanced technical works related to propulsion systems and onboard installations. The aim of the project was to increase the operational efficiency of the vessel, ensure compliance with the new EU ES-TRIN directive, and reduce emissions in accordance with Stage V standards.

 

As part of the reconstruction, we carried out, among others:

 

  • overhaul and maintenance of the hull and superstructure,

  • installation of a bow thruster to improve maneuverability,

  • modernization of the engine room, including the installation of a new generator set and modern Hyundai Stage V main engines meeting strict emission standards, along with completely new systems,

  • installation of new exhaust systems,

  • installation of Kingston boxes and hull coolers,

  • replacement of propellers,

  • overhaul of shaft lines and steering gear,

  • modernization of the control console,

  • replacement of the engine room GTR switchboard.

 

Additionally, we carried out a number of extra works in accordance with the individual requirements of the shipowner.

 

The entire reconstruction was carried out in compliance with the highest quality and safety standards, which not only extended the vessel’s operational cycle but also significantly improved its efficiency and crew comfort.
